We believe in project-based learning, a supportive, multisensory approach to Hebrew literacy, and joyful learning with art, performance, music, and options that appeal to unique learners. Brit Mitzvah Preparation
Brit mitzvah is a meaningful milestone. Students typically begin working one-on-one with Rabbi Hoover 6–8 months before their ceremony, plus weekly support from a Hebrew tutor. Many families reserve their date a year in advance, though we’re flexible on timing.
See our Brit Mitzvah Handbook for details.
Religious School runs September 19, 2026–June 19, 2027. We usually follow public school closures and breaks.
New students can enroll at any time during the year.
This Year’s Curriculum
2026–2027: Torah Stories, Hebrew Literacy, and Tefillah/Prayer
We rotate our curriculum yearly to deepen different aspects of Jewish learning and practice.
Special Events Throughout the Year
Beyond regular classes, we celebrate together:
- High Holidays: Youth and family services throughout
- Fall: Tashlich at Prospect Lake, Sukkot dinner & decorating
- Winter: Hanukkah candlelightings
- Spring: Purim Carnival, Yom Hashoah observance, Shavuot Shabbaton, Pride Shabbat
- Year-round: service learning, field trips
For Parents
While your child is in class on Saturday mornings, Rabbi Hoover offers B’Yachad (which means “Together” for a free, optional discussion group) and Torah Study, a chance for adults to connect. We offer parents the chance to help shape the culture of the Religious School through the Religious School Committee for those who wish to join.
